| | Located in Ft. Casey State Park, this brick and stucco structure marks the |
| | entrance to Puget Sound, along with Point Wilson Light. The original was |
| | built on Whidbey Island in 1861. |

| | HISTORY: Old Alcatraz Light, built in 1854 off the coast of San Francisco, |
| | became the first lighthouse on the West Coast. The structure was a two-story |
| | California cottage with the tower in the center. It was outfitted with a fixed |
| | Third Order Fresnel lens, which was later replaced with a flashing Fourth |
| | Order lens. Often the thick San Francisco fog rendered the light ineffective. A |
| | hand-rung fog bell was installed. Old Alcatraz was damaged in the 1906 |
